Black Stig posted a lap time of 1:46 for the Star in a Reasonably-Priced Car segment. This Stig was used for the first two series of the show. It was then "killed off" at the start of the third series when he was shown driving a modified Jaguar XJ-S off the flight deck of HMS Invincible during a stunt and landing in the sea.

He died in 2003.

They 'killed him off' as SCH8123 said by driving him of a ship! (obviously not really, but in 'Top Gear World' they did) because he revealed his identity in his biography but I can't remember who it was...(I wasn't a top gear fan back then so I could be completely wrong!)
frena323 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
what happened to black stig?
SCH8123 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
and then he died on that ship :D

oh i see. you have a point, but it might be irrelevant information to car nuts. it would be great for bikers though. maybe they could have done it just for shits a giggles.
VituMV (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
because they say that because of the bike's body, the aerodynamics make the laser misses the bike.... therefore a laser can't catch it
xAtreyuAlesanax (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
why would you though?
