The majority of people arrested for camera damage admit they did it in an attempt to avoid prosecution. In other words, they believe that they were caught by that camera exceeding the limit & they wished to destroy the evidence. Such destruction has nothing to do with increasing safety.Given the amount of motorists detected above the posted threshold, proving that by destroying a camera caused a collision, would be difficult to impossible.

How do you think destroying the speed camera will help to keep people safe??Do you honestly want to be the cause of an accident where people could lose their lives? Or even worse it could be you having the accident - wouldn't you hate the person who did that to you?I think you would. This is an immature approach to something that with a bit of sense could be resolved. You should expect better of yourselves, and not stoop to such low means.

You seem to misunderstand me, I'm not an anti, but cameras do not see the whole picture. There will now be a little axe grinding, but the reason I am sat here bored out of my tiny little mind is due to having a back injury after someone ran into the back of my car while she was lighting a cigarette. The mobile speed camera that was pointing at us did register her speed, 31mph in a posted 30 limit, and as such was not interested in prosecuting her. That was 4 years ago, and it still hurts.

Like many here, you focus on issues of comparison in a bid to highlight something's apparent shortcomings.Speeding is a very specific offence, it is highly specialised, so should we reprimand those in the Child Protection Unit for missing burglaries, acts of criminal damage or drunken brawling outside nightclubs? It is 'inappropriate speed' kills, not speeding per se. Far more people are severely injured annually than killed in road accidents, but these are always 'forgotten' by anti's.

Stuck on, I'm afraid, and no chest hair. Would you care for a dance, lolly? I hear you're quite a mover. I did hit the reply button on your comment but YouTube seemed to send it to evil instead. 20mph speed limit? That would be great! Unfortunately it wouldn't help the people I have to get to in my day to day work. Speed DOES kill, but so do bald tyres, innatention, even defective screenwashers, but cameras don't see these. Yes, use cameras, but put more police out as well.

This is like watching the tango scene in the Police Academy movie. Is your moustache real Georgey Boy or is it a stuck on? (Cues old Village People track, pictures hairy chests bearing bared).Don't forget to hit the 'Reply' button when you want someone to know you've typed something you want them to see.Roll on the speed limit reductions - 20mph, yeehaaaa!
